Design and build of a submarine model approximately 70 cm long. Construction started with a carved polystyrene core which was then fibre-glassed, followed by detailing and painting. The symmetrical elements were shaped on a simple, purpose-built lathe. The propeller blades were fibreglass laid up on curved Mylar and the rivets were plastic half beads and dabs of resin. |
